Hinged frames provide particularly high levels of thermal insulation, sound insulation and air and water tightness, making them an ideal solution, as they cover a wide range of needs and requirements.

It is worth mentioning that ALUMIL is the first company in Greece that certified, by the internationally recognized Passive House Institute, a hinged window system as suitable for passive buildings, i.e. buildings with top thermal insulation. ALUMIL hinged windows are the first choice in large international projects, such as the headquarters of Google in New York and many important buildings around the world, and they are the most reliable way to clad homes of all kinds.

It should be noted that hinged doors, due to their construction, cannot cover equally effectively large openings that exceed 2 meters in width, even when it comes to double-leaf balcony doors. In addition, it should be noted that a hinged system requires more space inside or outside the frame so that the leaf can open unobstructed.

ALUMIL has a variety of solutions for hinged windows and balcony doors:

  • Hinged (opening inwards), with or without tilt, single or double leaf.
  • Hinged (opening outwards), with or without tilt, single or double leaf.
  • Pivot on a horizontal or vertical axis.
  • Projected (opening from the bottom outwards).

Hinged frames are an excellent choice if:

  • You live in an apartment.
  • Your room has smaller window openings.
  • Your space is several square meters.
